Lake George (Mammoth Lakes) - Fished Lake George in the late evening. The weather was great! The evening fish session was a great way to end a day of skiing, mountain biking and fishing. The fishing portion was the best though! I started fishing at about 6:45 PM. I waded out onto a shallow shelf with a five weight rod, and a reel set up with an intermediate line. I fished with a streamer, a "twin lakes" special variation. The fly, a size 10, was tied with a weighted silver body, olive hackle and tail. It was the only fly that I needed, as I hooked up on my first cast and throughout the session. I landed about a dozen fish, all rainbows, during the forty-five minutes of fishing. The largest of the fish measured in at sixteen inches. I believe that any streamer pattern would have been productive.
